Research Interests:

My research interest is concerned with the reciprocal influence between the growth of volcanoes and their underlying basement.  This relationship is characterized through studies of a wide-variety of volcanoes in different geodynamics settings using remote sensing, analogue modeling, morpho-structural and field structural methods. Volcanoes currently being investigated are those in the Philippines, Kamchatka, Ecuador and the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. The goal is to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on this aspect of volcanoes and address their beneficial and adverse impacts to society.
